Further blow for East Kilbride as Chiquito confirms it won't reopen in town centre Hub

dailyrecord.co.ukEast Kilbride, said: “The coronavirus has had a severe impact on the hospitality sector across the UK, with the recent announcement by The Restaurant Group illustrating this only too clearly. “Unfortunately, as a result of these very challenging conditions, Chiquito in The Hub will not be reopening when restrictions are relaxed.“Despite the difficult trading conditions we have had positive discussions with a number of other operators and look forward to making an announcement very soon.”Restaurants have remained shut since the UK went into lockdown on March 23 and many are unlikely to reopen in July due to the financial stress caused by the coronavirus pandemic.The Restaurant Group said it had initially kept Chiquito workers in employment.
