A further four cases of coronavirus in England have been announced by health officials. A total of 13,525 people have now been tested for coronavirus in the UK, and increase of nearly 2,000 since yesterday.
The latest cases bring the total number of UK cases to 40 - after Scotland announced its first case of the virus and a further 12 patients were confirmed in England on Sunday.
Professor Chris Whitty, chief medical officer, said all four cases announced today had travelled from Italy and the patients are from Hertfordshire, Devon and Kent.
In a statement, he said: "As of 9am this morning, four further patients in England have tested positive for Covid-19. “All four patients had recently travelled from Italy.
