A grandmother today asked the government whether she'd be able to hug her grandchildren when the coronavirus lockdown is eased.
Lynne, from Skipton, was the first member of the public to ask a question at the government's daily briefing. This will happen at every press conference from now on, Matt Hancock said.
The grandmother asked: "I'm missing my grandchildren so much. Please can you let me know if after the five criteria are met, is being able to hug our closest family one of the first steps out of lockdown?".
The Health Secretary said this question was 'incredibly important' and it reminds us of the 'emotional impact' of the lockdown measures.
