Chelsea attacker Andre Schurrle has announced his retirement from football at the age of 29. The German featured for the Blues and Fulham during his time in England and also enjoyed stints at Mainz, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Spartak Moscow.But after Dortmund cancelled his contract earlier this week, Schurrle has made the decision to prematurely call time on his career before he even turns 30.
Speaking to German outlet Der Spiegel, the free agent today said: "The decision matured in me for a long time. I no longer need applause.
