The club's record scorer missed the home straight of last season after pulling up with a knee problem in June. After surgery in Barcelona on the problem, it was hoped that Aguero could return in time for the latter rounds of the Champions League a few months later.
However, not only was he unable to do that but the Argentine is still not training with the team and City's manager warned that a lengthy lay-off is realistic.
