Five men have been arrested following a "disturbance" at a coronavirus-hit military barracks in Kent where hundreds of asylum seekers have been living.
Heavy smoke and flames were seen pouring from Napier Barracks in Folkestone on Friday afternoon amid blaring alarms. Kent Police said a "significant amount" of damage was caused to one part of the site following the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately.
A 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a security guard on Friday evening, the force said. A further four men were arrested in connection with the incident at the Ministry of Defence-owned facility, the following morning.
