Chewton Glen, the much loved five-star country house hotel on the edge of the New Forest, the ensuing wait was more nail-biting than most, as there was no knowing when - or if - its newly refurbished spa would be permitted to reopen.After a couple of false starts, the spa welcomed its members back on July 15, and hotel guests 10 days later.
In retrospect, the renovations couldn’t have come at a better time: if we’re to even consider disrobing in a public space, it needs to be one that looks and feels squeaky clean.The spa’s new brilliant-white and grey colour scheme instantly confers a feeling of cleanliness; it’s crisp, contemporary and immaculate.
