A petition demanding a review of the sentence handed to a hit-and-run driver who killed Robyn Fryar has been backed by almost 5000 people.
Shaun Gatti was jailed for just five years and three months after mowing down the 15-year-old schoolgirl in Paisley on July 7, 2019.
The 21-year-old, who had been drinking in a nightclub, hit young Robyn on Glenburn Road before dragging her for a distance on the bonnet of his Volkswagen Golf. After getting out of his vehicle and seeing the fatally injured child on the road, Gatti got back in his car and drove away before attempting to hide the smashed up motor.
Robyn’s heartbroken family branded the sentence “pathetic” and said their daughter had been treated “worse than an animal” by Gatti.
