Three young soldiers who served together were driven to suicide by Army welfare failures, it has been claimed. Today two of the pals are dead and one survived after a failed suicide bid two weeks ago.
A fourth comrade was also found dead at his barracks last week. At least three of the soldiers claimed they were physically and verbally abused while training at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate, North Yorks, in 2016.
The first to die was Highlander Alistair McLeish, 18, who hanged himself in his room in Catterick Garrison two years ago. Rifleman Nathan Worner, 20, who had been in the same recruit platoon as Alistair, was found dead in Bulford Barracks, Wilts, two months ago while serving with 5 Rifles.
