Former Manchester United goalkeeping coach Eric Steele believes recalling Dean Henderson from Sheffield United in January would have provided the challenge David de Gea needs to improve his form.
The Spaniard has come under fire after another costly error between the sticks saw United draw against Everton in the Premier League .
De Gea took too long to clear the ball before eventually blasting it straight against the onrushing Dominic Calvert-Lewin who opened the scoring at Goodison Park.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backed the Spain international following the game but Steele believes he needs to be challenged in order to recapture his best form.
