Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea jokingly apologised to Peter Schmeichel after overtaking him to become the most capped foreign player for the club.
The Spaniard was in goal for the 399th time in a United shirt on Thursday night as his team easily beat Aston Villa 3-0 in the Premier League.
His latest appearance means he has now played more games for the club than Schmeichel but he still has some way to go to break the record for most games for a keeper.That is held by Alex Stepney, who made 539 appearances for United and won the European Cup in 1968.
But it was certainly a landmark night for De Gea at Villa Park and the former Atletico Madrid stopper was clearly delighted.
