Ex-Chelsea striker Diego Costa set to be available on free transfer in 2021

dailystar.co.ukDespite costing Atletico Madrid a mammoth £67m in a move from Chelsea during the summer of 2017, Diego Costa has failed to impress Diego Simeone and had subsequently been linked with the exit door.
The 31-year-old has only made 44 appearances across the last two-and-a-half seasons thanks to a string of injury problems, and also received an eight-match back in April of 2019 for abusing a referee.
Costa looks a long way off the form that helped Atletico to La Liga glory back in 2014, a season in which he scored 36 goals in all competitions.
News has no emerged that the Brazilian-born forward will be staying beyond the summer in order to prove his worth, with a free transfer away from the club in 2021 now looking likely.
