He scored at Anfield after coming off the bench as his side fought from three goals down to pull level before losing 4-3. But Van Dijk kept him quiet in the second leg - the only game of the Champions League campaign in which Haaland has failed to score having found the net 10 times in seven games.
That did not stop the Norwegian teenager being in-demand and securing a January move to Borussia Dortmund, where he has continued to impress.
