Jordan Henderson has paid tribute to Virgil van Dijk, claiming he has been “immense” for Liverpool on and off the pitch. Van Dijk helped take Liverpool to a new level when he arrived in January 2018 for a then world record fee for a defender of £75million.
They reached the Champions League Final in his first season before winning the trophy last June and are now set to be lift the title for the first time in 30 years.
Henderson feels van Dijk has been key to this progression and says he has been an excellent addition to their squad. “What hasn’t he brought, really?” said the Reds skipper. “I couldn’t speak highly enough of him as a player.
