An easyJet plane hurtling at 185mph on take-off almost ran out of runway after pilots input the wrong flight data. The plane taking 167 passengers to Manchester took off just 110 metres from the end of the runway at Lisbon Airport in Portugal on September 16, 2019.

The pilots realised something was wrong as they were thundering down the runway and saw red and white flashing lights indicating they had 900m left.

The Airbus A320-214 passed over the end of the runway at a height of 35ft. An Air Accidents Investigation Branch report said there were “several obstructions beyond the runway that could have caused significant damage to the aircraft and its occupants”.
