EastEnders fans emotional as BBC soap pays tribute to Dr Legg actor after tragic death

EastEnders fans were left emotional as bosses dedicated the latest episode of the soap to veteran actor Leonard Fenton following his death at the age of 95.Viewers saw Thursday’s episode end with a moving tribute to the late actor, when a message appeared on screen reading: “In memory of Leonard Fenton.

1926 – 2022.”Leonard was best known for his role as Dr Legg on EastEnders and for his close friendship with Dot Cotton. He appeared as a regular character between 1985 and 1989, but continued to appear in a recurring role until 1997.He was officially retired in 1999, though he has made cameos since this time in 2000, 2004 and 2007.He returned for a storyline from 18 October 2018 and he departed on 15 February 2019 when his character died of pancreatic cancer.Taking to Twitter, emotional fans posted their praise for moving tribute.“Aww came up at the end of #eastenders that Leonard Fenton had died… Dr Legg …"While another gushed: “Sad to hear the lovely Leonard Fenton has passed away.
