EASTENDERS fans were left in floods of tears during tonight's tribute episode to Dot Cotton after her 'surprise return'. The BBC soap paid an emotional tribute to the legendary character - who passed away off screen a few weeks ago - following June Brown's death in April aged 95.
During the heartbreaking episode, Dot's voice was heard on two separate occasions, leaving fans in tears at hearing the character once again.
The episode began with the camera slowly approaching Dot’s door on Albert Square, before heading inside and revealing Sonia at the kitchen table, surrounded by photos of Dot.
She then played a tape recording of Dot which she had made for husband Jim after his stroke, and viewers were immediately struck by June’s distinctive voice as Dot ringing out around the set once again.
