DWP confirms PIP face-to-face assessment changes are on the way with video calls already being tested

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) put in place a number of measures to prevent delays or interruptions to certain services including suspending reassessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) award renewals and referrals for those moving from Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to PIP as part of the national rollout.

The DWP extended current award notices to ensure claimants received continuous payments without interruption in order to focus on processing new claims.

However, one of the issues people making a new claim for PIP or DLA have encountered is the face-to-face assessment with a health professional.
