Christmas dreams have come true for two Dumfriesshire communities.A festive cash boost of more than £1.1 million will help Thornhill residents turn a derelict old school into an entrepreneurial hub with artists studios, offices and community spaces.And Kirkconnel and Kelloholm Community Development Trust is to receive a massive £2.3 million towards ambitions plans to create a new skills and innovation centre on the derelict site of the former Kelloholm Arms pub.The cash is coming from the Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund following successful bids from the council.Simon Robertson, chairman of the Old School Thornhill group, is delighted with their windfall which is a “significant step forward” for the project to restore
