Two Scottish tennis supporters have been tracked down in Australia after a Twitter cry for help from Judy Murray. Steven Glennie and Jodie Maggs were cheering on Andy Murray at his match in Sydney yesterday.
The couple, from Dundee, who now work in the Australian city, were seen on TV wearing national football tops an waving a ‘Bonnie Scotland’ Saltire.
Their crazy support and singing got Andy through a tough game with Georgian world number 23 player, Nikoloz Basilashvili. And after the tense match, Judy put out a call on Twitter to track them down.
She wrote: “Can anyone in Sydney or Scotland identify these Scots who were at Andy’s match v Basilashvili?“Would like to invite them to quarter final..."And she received dozens of responses including one from Steven’s mum Sandra Davidson, who wrote: “Hi Judy thats my son Steven Glennie and his girlfriend Jodie Maggs !!!“They are from Dundee living in Sydney and were so excited to watch Andy at the match today !!“Im sure they would be delighted to be at the quarter final ..
