Dr Hilary Jones has warned that the UK public should prepare for the rule of six to be scrapped in England and follow Scotland's tougher coronavirus measures.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation and drafted in a raft of new rules to combat the rising cases of coronavirus.
The measures included decreasing the number of people allowed to attend a wedding to 15, mandatory face masks worn by retail workers and implementing a 10pm curfew on pubs, bars and restaurants.
However, the rule of six is still in place, which allows six people from separate households to mix. Yet Dr Hilary has suggested that England will likely follow in Scotland's footsteps and ban household visits entirely.
