Salford is still 'quite a way off' testing 200,000 people a week, an NHS boss has revealed, raising questions over the 'feasibility' of Operation Moonshot.All Salford residents were expected to have access to 20-minute saliva-based tests by now – but the trial has still not successfully reached 250 tests a day.It comes after the city was selected by the government to lead the way in developing a new national approach to community testing for coronavirus.Days later, Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the nation of his hopes that this regular mass testing of the population will provide a route back to normal life.Dubbed "Operation Moonshot", Johnson said that Salford would pilot this new testing model with audiences in indoor and outdoor.
