A couple wth Down’s Syndrome who are approaching their 25th wedding anniversary face being torn apart by a devastating dementia diagnosis.
Tommy, 62, and Maryanne Pilling, 48, from Essex are set to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in the comfort of their own home.
The have lived together independently for years, and are thought to be the longest married couple with the genetic condition.
Lovebirds Maryanne and Tommy got engaged in 1995 after 18 months of dating. Tommy proposed with a toy ring from a vending machine while out on a date, after asking Maryanne’s mum for permission.
