Dog 'teaches' baboons how to dig after they accept her into their troop

An adorable dog has taken up a nanny's role to take care of a troop of 40 baboons in the wild for a daily walk. Nati, the four-year-old old Jack Russell mix, lives in Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia, South Africa, and works as a foster mum to injured and orphaned animals.

In Channel 5's Dogs with Extraordinary Jobs, Nati is seen getting along well with the primates and even teaching them tricks.

The pooch can be seen starting to dig – a natural instinct for the breed who were bred to hunt out animals underground. Baboons observe the digging and then start mimicking Nati by her side.
