Doctor hits back at 'body shamers' after Tampax advert is banned in Ireland

An advert showing women how to correctly insert a tampon during their period has been taken off the television in Ireland. After receiving around 150 complaints about the ad, the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland (ASAI) advised that Tampax's Tampons and Tea should not be aired in the same format again.

The advert itself shows a talk show host demonstrating with her hand how to use the tampon applicator properly to avoid any discomfort. "Not just the tip; up to the grip," she says as she does so.

Proctor & Gamble, which owns Tampax, said the ad was intended to be "light-hearted" but also "educate" on a "very common usage question", reports Metro, However a number of people didn't find it educational and instead complained it was
