Disgusting aftermath of illegal rave includes human waste and laughing gas canisters

Human excrement, used tampons and "thousands" of laughing gas canisters were found in piles of rubbish in the "appalling" aftermath of an illegal rave attended by 4,000 revellers.

Discarded objects such as broken bottles, cans, cups and clothing and covered Daisy Nook Country Park in Failsworth, in Oldham, Greater Manchester, after an event dubbed the "Quarantine Rave".

Burned patches of grass where fires had been made formed dark spots across the sun-bleached, trampled grass. Council workers and local residents who volunteered to clean up the mess clocked off after almost nine hours, and one volunteer said it "looks like Glastonbury has happened", the Manchester Evening News reported.
