Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has claimed his former club are "five years ahead" of rivals Manchester United but believes they will struggle to dominate Premier League because of how good Manchester City are under Pep Guardiola.
Jurgen Klopp 's men finally confirmed their first league title in 30 years after City lost 2-1 to Chelsea on Thursday, giving Liverpool an unassailable 23 point lead at the top of the table.
Despite Liverpool's dominance this campaign, Hamann believes it will not be as easy to repeat the trick next year with Guardiola in charge of City.
