Dillian Whyte will have an immediate chance to avenge his defeat to Alexander Povetkin. The 32-year-old would have had the chance to fight for a heavyweight title if he had beaten his Russian foe at the Matchroom Headquarters in Brentwood this weekend, but it did not go to plan.
The experienced Povetkin climbed off the canvas to knock-out his opponent with a stunning uppercut in the fifth round, putting a possible bout between Whyte and Tyson Fury on hold.
The Brit was in no mood to reflect on his loss, finding promoter Eddie Hearn during an interview and asking whether his rematch clause could go ahead later this year.
