Dillian Whyte has been handed a 28-day medical suspension after being knocked out by Alexander Povetkin. The heavyweight was stopped in the fifth round by his Russian rival last Saturday as his world title dreams blew up in front of his eyes.
Whyte has since clamoured for an immediate rematch to be held in November or December and that remains on the cards after he was handed the shortest possible suspension.
The British Boxing Board of Control has the authority to impose a ban of between 28 and 45 days on any fighter who has been knocked out or stopped by punches.
