Scottish Fire and Rescue Services said that six appliances were at the scene.Road closures have been put in place in the area and officers urged people to avoid the area.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We are currently in attendance at a building fire on Queen Street in Forfar along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
