David Beckham has paid humbling tribute to those who fought in the Second World War on the 75th anniversary of VE Day - including his own granddad.
The footballer, model and businessman pressed pause on his usual social media output to share a series of snaps of VE Day celebrations, after the Second World War had been won in Europe on 8th May 1945.
He also posted a black and white photograph of his late granddad in his military uniform, and cradling a puppy in his arms. The 45 year old wrote: "A day where we remember #VEDay75 miss you grandad." In an earlier post, he showed a snapshot of celebrations in 1945, including sailors drinking a well earned up of tea when arriving back home, and a party for peace on a residential street.
