A dangerous driver has admitted killing a "beautiful and kind" teenage girl who was hit while walking to school. Kevin Pryce, 45, pleaded guilty to causing the death of Mia Strothers, 14, by dangerous driving.
Mia was seriously injured in the crash on Lightbowne Road in Moston at about 8.15am on Monday, October 5, and died two days later.
Pryce, who did not have a driving licence, did not stop at the scene. Manchester Crown Court heard that prosecutors say he was travelling at about 57mph.
But Pryce's lawyer said he disputes that he was travelling at 'anywhere near that speed', instead suggesting it was nearer 30mph or 40mph, reports the Manchester Evening News.
