Arlene Phillips is set to join the star-studded judging panel of Dancing on Ice later this month. More than 14 years on from her ‘ageist’ axe from the Strictly Come Dancing panel, the professional dancer is set to return to her TV judging role on the ITV show.
The West End star – who recently enjoyed a gruelling month-long stint on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! last year – was one of the stars in the running to replace John Barrowman before Oti Mabuse stole the role.
Now, it has been reported that the dancer will make history when she appears on the panel for a one-off appearance. This will be the first time the show will have five judges on the panel ready to critique the figure skating abilities learnt throughout the series on air.
A spokeswoman for ITV said: “We’re looking forward to having Dame Arlene on the show - a very special, special guest for Dancing on Ice.”The brunette beauty will sit alongside existing judges Ashley Banjo, 33m Jayne Torvill, 64, Christopher Dean, 63, and Oti Mabuse, 31, which could be as early as February 20.
