An Ayrshire nursing home has been told to improve its infection control practices following a recent inspection. Bute House care home, in Cumnock’s Barrhill Terrace, must make the improvements by Saturday, January 15, say the Care Inspectorate.
The scrutiny body made an unannounced visit to the care home earlier this month and expressed concerns over the home’s care and support of residents during the Covid-19 pandemic.An extract from its report states: “It is important that equipment and the environment is clean to reduce the risk of infection.“The management team took immediate action in response to some mattresses and equipment that was not as clean as expected.“Management oversight of the cleanliness of some care equipment needs to be
