Crosshouse Hospital nurses have been raising cash during lockdown to keep kids safe throughout the coronavirus crisis. Rachel Bryson, Allana Tonner, Sharon Birtles and Jay Forbes have taken up running amidst the pandemic in between long shifts working for NHS Ayrshire & Arran.And through their new hobby, the group has decided that they want to help raise vital funds for charity too.Dubbed ‘The Ward 4A Road Runners’, the nurses chose to help children and families who have been affected by the restrictions of lockdown and the coronavirus.At the end of May they ran a sponsored 10k around Eglinton Country Park in Irvine, North Ayrshire, to raise funds for Children 1st, Scotland’s national children’s charity.And the inspirational group of nurses.
