police statements ever made, South Sudanese authorities have confirmed they have arrested a cow for the murder of a 12-year-old boy.Police have confirmed that they have detained the lactating thug along with its owner after the animal allegedly attacked the child near a farm in the Lakes State. It's been reported that the ferocity of the attack from the bull was such that the child was killed instantly.Major Elijah Mabor, a South Sudanese police spokesman has since confirmed that the beast is "under arrest".He said: "The bull is now under arrest at a police station in Rumbek Central County."The boy was taken to hospital for post-mortem and he was taken home for burial.” Amazingly, it's not the first time a creature has been arrested, charged and imprisoned in the country.

Just a month ago, a ram was arrested and charged with the murder of a 45-year-old woman. In the brutal attack, Adhieu Chaping was rammed in the ribs repeatedly by the animal before dying of her wounds.

Speaking at the time of the ram's arrest, a police spokesman explained: "The owner is innocent [but] the ram is the one who perpetrated the crime so it deserves to be arrested."Our role as police is to provide safety and separate fights.”Last week the same ram was sentenced to hard labour at a military camp where it will be imprisoned for three years.

And once it's released, it's expected to be given to the family of Chaping - in line with the laws and traditions of the country.
