Christmas tends to be a rather stressful time of year, so it may come as no surprise that couples are not prioritising sex. A new study has found that bedroom activity dwindles in the run-up to December 25, but makes a grand return during and after the big day – and also over New Year.Researchers at Stanford and Colombia Universities looked at the sexual activity of thousands of women around the world.They analysed anonymous logs of more than 500,000 women in the US, UK, France and Brazil from the women’s health app Clue.It looked at birthrates at various times of the year and how they were affected by sex during the festive period.In the US, people become less interested in sex in the three days before Christmas but this quickly reversed.
