US country music star Ashley Monroe has revealed she is suffering from blood cancer. The singer, 34, is starting chemotherapy after doctors diagnosed her with the disease following "routine lab work." After discovering that she was suffering from anaemia, doctors decided to do a bone marrow biopsy on her after her red blood count kept falling.

More tests led to the medical professionals discovering that she has Waldenström macroglobulinemia - a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Chart-topper Ashley bravely shared on her health battle via her Instagram account on Tuesday as she penned a long message to her fans.

She began the post by sharing how she is grateful for having flowers sent to her weekly and the support from her friends and
