The Costa del Sol is planning to offer international holidaymakers free "coronavirus insurance" in a bid to revitalise its tourism industry.
Andalusia has decided to follow in the footsteps of the Canary Islands to give visitors "peace of mind". The insurance would cover hotel and hospital costs if the holidaymaker contracts coronavirus during their stay.
Andalusia is also stressing "the urgent need to create safe corridors and says it is in a position to offer tourists better health services than other regions".
The coronavirus insurance is part of a package of new proposals which includes travel discount vouchers for local residents who choose to remain in any part of Andalusia for their holiday.
