Coronavirus: Police could be given 'further powers' to stop people driving into Wales

Police in Wales could be given further powers to stop people crossing the border from England, Welsh Transport Minister Ken Skates has said.

Speaking at a press briefing, Mr Skates said road checks are "regularly carried out" in Wales in a bid to curb "irresponsible behaviour".

He said: "I should just say it is not just that people are travelling across the border, whether it's from England to Wales or Wales into England. "It's also that some people are not behaving appropriately within wales and are travelling too far for exercise when they should obviously not be doing so." He added: "The police are doing an incredible job and of course if further resource, further powers are required then we will support them in their endeavours." Mr
