Lockdown restrictions across the UK are set to remain in place for another three weeks. The Government is expected to announce later this week that it will be extending the existing emergency measures until May 7.
But senior ministers are divided about whether people should be encouraged to return to work, The Times reports. Dominic Raab, who is deputising for Boris Johnson while he recovers from coronavirus, is likely to announce the extension on Thursday.
Speaking earlier today, Raab said that he did not expect the Government would make any changes to the current lockdown measures until it was confident they could be made safely.
