A vast package of loans and support for coronavirus-hit businesses have been unveiled this evening. Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak have both pledged to do 'whatever it takes' in Britain's fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Sunak promised £330 billion in interest-free loans, including support packages for airlines and airports in trouble, as well as other measures for mortgage-holders affected by the outbreak.
Pubs, clubs, theatres and and other retail, leisure and hospitality businesses will get support in the form of government-backed loans, cash grants and business rates holidays, the Chancellor said.
