The coronavirus lockdown has seen Britain become overrun with tons of rubbish as the closure of tips leads to a 300 per cent fly-tipping increase.
Quarantined families are producing far higher levels of waste following clear outs and plenty of leftover food leading to councils across the country struggling to keep on top of disposal.
Mounds of unwanted clothing and knick-knacks are also being left outside charity shops that may not re-open for months. Only a few tips remain open but those that are operating are running with only a handful of skeleton staff.
And while some people are struggling to know what to do with all the extra food waste, others have jumped on the opportunity to off load unwanted items across both rural and urban areas.
