A pub landlord has barred under 25s from entering after 8pm, claiming younger drinkers are "impossible to control" as it looks to impose coronavirus measures.

The Royal Standard, in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, announced it was taking the drastic step to protect its staff and regulars.

Pubs across much of England re-opened on Saturday, July 4, after months in lockdown - though with strict restrictions to prevent the further spread of coronavirus.

Gaffer David Haines posted on the pub's Facebook page on Tuesday a picture saying 'Over 25s Only'. He said his first three nights after re-opening had seen "unprecedented numbers of younger drinkers" but that they were "refusing to adhere to any social distancing rules".
