Coronavirus: Cruise ship stranded off south of France as two passengers tested

A cruise ship is stranded in the Mediterranean as France refuses permission for the vessel to dock while two passengers are taken ashore for coronavirus testing.

Carnival Cruises ship the Aidasol has been blocked from its Marseille stopover and is idling off the coast of l-Estaque, according to local reports.

The seven-day cruise 'Pearls of the Mediterranean' is due to make the stop in the south of France after visiting Mallorca and Barcelona, according to the company's itineray.

The German cruise ship is able to carry more than 2,100 passengers. The Aidasol is due to carry on to Livorno and Rome before returning to Mallorca.
