The ongoing coronavirus crisis has now had a huge effect on the TV schedules. Last night's Holby City was cancelled and EastEnders aired at a later time to make room for a special extended news broadcast about the outbreak, which aired at 6pm.
The news was confirmed in a tweet posted by the official Holby City Twitter account yesterday, reading: "News just in. We're postponing tonight's #HolbyCity episode due to an extended 6pm news bulletin.

The regional news then followed from 6:45pm to 7:15pm. Then The One Show ran for a slightly shorter time of 45 minutes until 8pm.
