As Greater Manchester's own climate change meetings begin today, a youth activist has issued a plea for the crisis to be taken seriously.
There will be two events this week, showcasing renewable energy and low carbon transport, in the region for those unable to attend the main conference in Glasgow.
Meanwhile on Tuesday (November 9), Andy Burnham, mayor of Greater Manchester, which aims to be carbon neutral by 2038, will join with other metro mayors and experts at an event in Glasgow to talk about how education and innovation can help tackle climate change.
