The square was made a temporary car-free zone last July and became a hive of activity between lockdowns with beer gardens and outdoor seating appearing in the closed-off area.
Many have called for the temporary closure to be made permanent, with Manchester council seeking feedback on the future of Stevenson Square as part of a new consultation.
The plans will form part of a wider £13.4m investment in the Northern Quarter, which would see a continuous walking and cycling
