An anaesthetist struck a patient on the face and told him to “stop f***ing around” as he went to put him to sleep before an operation.
Dr David James, 57, was putting the last patient of the day under anaesthetic ahead of gallbladder surgery in August 2019 when he suddenly "lost his temper".
The attack at Guy’s and St Thomass Hospital in London reported by operating theatre technician Michael Cousins and junior doctor Kathryn Singh, reports Wales Online.
The consultant anaesthetist denied the offence but was convicted of assaulting the distressed patient, William Wright, at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on October 19.
