Community holds family fun day in support of decaying Lanarkshire play park

A downpour failed to dampen the spirits of the East Kilbride community which turned out in force to support Friends of Dunedin Park’s first family fun day.A whole host of attractions drew the crowds to the event at Dunedin pitches on Sunday which had a real community feel.Kids went on a bear hunt through the fairy wood, soaked a grown up in a game of Splat and even jumped aboard a fire engine with visits from local firefighters and police.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It was a great success despite the weather.“A big thank you to all the volunteers and committee members who pulled together getting everything set up and working on stalls.“Also a big thank you to the fire brigade and police for coming down, the kids loved it.
